My writing journey began as a third grader in Upstate New York with a butterfly trapper keeper, a pocket thesaurus, and an overflowing bookshelf.
After earning my BA from SUNY Geneseo, where I studied communication and creative writing, an internship brought me to North Carolina. There, I established a career in marketing before diving headfirst into my dream of writing for children.
As a full-time writer, I am an active member of the SCBWI and several critique groups. My debut picture book, A PENNY’S WORTH (Page Street Kids 2022), is the story of a new penny searching for her place in the world while learning the importance of self-worth.
When not writing, I share my love for books by volunteering with local literacy nonprofits through their Title I outreach programs. I also enjoy yoga, tennis, and family ping pong parties. I currently live in Charlotte, NC, with my husband and two daughters.
Even though my trapper keeper is long gone, I always have my idea notebook (and coffee!) close by.
